Cleveland State University graduate students and part-time faculty may register for a flat rate of $600. 

The Certificate in Higher Education Teaching at Cleveland State University is designed to help junior faculty, adjunct faculty, teaching assistants, and practitioners new to teaching refine their pedagogical strategies and increase their instructional effectiveness.

Earn your Cleveland State University Certificate in Higher Education Teaching to enhance your skills for full-time and part-time teaching roles in colleges and universities. Led by experienced faculty, this program covers pedagogy, student learning, innovative teaching, assessment methods, Diversity and Inclusion, and online teaching. With six learning units, six faculty-led discussions, and a comprehensive learning portfolio, you'll gain valuable insights in just 10 contact hours per unit. Secure your certificate by completing all components of the program. Elevate your teaching career with CSU's focused and practical Higher Education Teaching Certificate.

Learning Portfolio

Your learning portfolio is a summative reflection of your work in a single format showcasing your learning throughout the six core modules comprising the Certificate in Higher Education Teaching.

The learning portfolio is required to receive the certificate.

Admission Requirements

Prerequisites: Ideal candidates have a graduate degree, are working faculty, or are enrolled graduate students (at CSU or another university). Applicants with a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of work experience in areas of teaching interest wanting to teach in non-credit continuing and professional education also qualify.
