Your computer lab is always staffed by a student lab monitor who’s there to help you.   While the lab monitors cannot do your homework for you, here’s a list of things your monitor can help you with:

  • Keeping the printers stocked with paper and clearing minor paper jams and reporting major paper jams to technical support for clearing
  • Clearing up debris left behind by thoughtless students
  • Securing personal property left behind by forgetful students
  • Reminding students in quiet-study labs to be considerate of neighboring students
  • Monitoring lab equipment, reporting hardware and network problems
  • Preventing or Reporting misuse of lab equipment by people in the lab
  • Identifying and reporting building problems such as water leakage or power failure
