Starfish For Students?
Starfish is an online program that makes it easier for students to communicate and make appointments with support services and faculty on campus.
Starfish Navigation & Resources
Your homepage in Starfish is your Success Network. Under your Connections, you will find your assigned advisors and other support providers. You can click on a provider to view their profile, contact information, and schedule an appointment (if available).

Click on the menu in the top-left corner of your Starfish to navigate to your Dashboard. Your Dashboard will show you Notifications you've received about tracking items that have been raised for you. You can also view your Calendar of upcoming appointments, assignments from Blackboard with due dates, and tracking items with due dates.
What are Tracking Items?
Starfish is a tool that your instructor(s) and support staff use to alert you of your academic progress. To alert you, they will raise tracking items (flags, to-dos, referrals, and kudos).
- If you received a Flag, your instructor and/or support staff want you to take action to improve in a course or other aspect related to your academics.
*Reach out to your advisor or instructor to discuss and resolve the flag!
- If you were sent a To-Do item, your instructor and/or support staff want you to complete a task.
- If a Referral was made for you, it is advised that you get connected and schedule to meet with that resource or service.
- If you were sent a Kudo - great job! Your instructor and/or support staff are acknowledging your academic achievements and job well done!
Navigate to the Courses page in the main menu of Starfish (top-left corner). You can view the Instructor of your course and their contact information. Online appointment scheduling with your instructor may be available.
If a Service is added next to your course, this service is directly supporting your class. Take advantage of the support and engage with the service by scheduling an appointment or viewing the profile and contact information.
Click the Attendance tab under a course to view your attendance record in a class. Attendance records may not be included if your instructor does not track attendance in Starfish.
*If an attendance record is incorrect, discuss this with your instructor.
Go to the main menu of Starfish in the top-left corner. Select the Messages page to view all messages that Starfish sent you via email. This may include appointment confirmation details, emails from your instructors or advisors, and other outreach from support services on campus.
Go to the Upcoming page in your main menu to view all upcoming appointments you have scheduled. You can view the time and location of the appointment and cancel the appointment if needed.
