Preston White Assistive Technology Learning Center

The Preston White Assistive Technology Learning Center was constructed to assist Cleveland State students with disabilities in performing the coursework necessary to successfully complete their academic programs. In order to use these facilities you must be a student registered with the Disability Services Office at Cleveland State or doing coursework that includes the study of assistive technology. The ATLC is a joint project of the Michael Swartz 中国体育彩票APP下载:, the Office of Disability Services, and the Occupational Therapy Program.

Students using the ATLC have access to programs such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, dictation, scanning for text to speech, and word prediction. We have hardware to assist students like video magnifiers, a Braille embosser, Braille display, ergonomic keyboards, and alternative mice.

The lab is broken up into 3 rooms the Main room has four workstations including the iMac and 3PC's. The main room also has the Printer, and Topaz HD 24" Video Magnifier. The Quiet Study and Dictation Room has 3 work stations and a Topaz HD 24" Video Magnifier. The Quiet Study and Dictation Room is configured to be a much quieter room where students can work with limited background noise. The Embosser Room serves as storage for our equipment and as a separate room to house our Braille embossers.
