What is eduroam?
Eduroam (education roaming), is a worldwide system of wireless networks, allowing faculty, staff, and students to securely access the wireless networks at participating academic and research institutions. By logging in with his or her credentials, a user has the ability to access the eduroam network, connecting him or her to networks of partner institutions.
Where can I eduroam?
eduroam is available in thousands of locations across over 70 countries worldwide. From campuses to coffee shops. A list of partner institutions can be found here https://www.eduroam.us/institutions_list
Accessing eduroam
All Cleveland State University students, faculty and staff have access to the eduroam network. While on a campus, select the "eduroam" ssid on your wi-fi device and log in using your campusnet ID
Your login must be entered in the following format:
Username: EmployeeID@csuohio.edu OR StudentID@vikes.csuohio.edu
Password: (CSU Password)
Note: Including @csuohio.edu is critical to ensure a connection when visiting off campus institutions.
Your device is now connected to the eduroam network. When visiting a participating institution, simply select "eduroam" and your device will automatically connect.
Is it safe?
eduroam is based on the most secure encryption and authentication standards in existence today. Its security by far exceeds typical commercial hotspots.
