Cleveland Teaching Collaborative
A year ago, during the emergency transition to remote teaching and learning, CSU faculty members Shelley Rose and Molly Buckley had an idea to start a local educator innovator hub to support instructors at all levels in the process of designing and redesigning their classes for online contexts amidst a global pandemic. Thanks to the participation and contribution from so many colleagues, the Cleveland Teaching Collaborative came to life and continues to grow. A year later, with many lessons learned and new structures and possibilities in place, we are now imagining what postpandemic teaching might look like.
As part of CSU's commitment to Engaged Learning, see how you can get involved in CLE Teaching. There are opportunities with varying levels of commitment, from ‘just showing up’ to leading a small teaching community or writing a reflective case study to be published on the collaborative blog. All the opportunities are designed to enhance teaching and to contribute to CLE Teaching’s mission to curate, share, reflect on, and analyze educators’ experiences of remote and hybrid instruction to improve teaching, learning, and student success.
Ways to participate:
Publish a Reflective Case Study: We are still accepting abstracts for our Spring 2021 Cohort of case studies and the Right to Vote CFP consider writing up a class, lesson, or assignment. Format and topics are very flexible and multimodal projects are welcome additions to the growing community of educators.
Assignment Design Café: Join campus partners for drop-in discussion about assignment, instructional, and course design on the 2nd Friday of each month. cleteaching.org/adcafe/
Visit the Resource Referatory: Finally, simply visit our growing Resource Referatory. The Resource Referatory has over 800 crowd-sourced, open access entries for teaching and learning. You are participating in the Collaborative when you visit, draw from, and/or add to the collection. Check them out!
Looking Ahead: We are starting to plan for a summer teaching & learning institute… reach out if you are interested in participating in as a planner or presenter!
